Session is creating a team (for now called Sermon Planning Team) which will be responsible for the structure and preaching/teaching/drama component of the Sunday service. We are looking to form a team that will meet somewhere between 1-2 times per month plus a significant number of email discussions in between to:
1. Review the past week's sermons and overall worship experience for: impact / clarity / vision / truth / continuity / inspirational value .
2. Plan sermon series 3-6 months in advance - Topics / Speakers / Major Themes / etc
3. Submit sermon series plans to the Session on at least a quarterly basis
4. Plan, coordinate and integrate dramatic or visual arts dimension of the Sunday experience.
5. Monitor and moderate the congregation's pulpit diet to assure that the "whole council of God" is being covered and recommend adjustments to the content as necessary. This should be looking at least a 5 year window. Where do we need to grow as a congregation. Input shall be obtained through prayer, from Session, the congregation and the culture at large.
